A life centered on ease, alignment, and joy, not anxiety.

Stress and Worry Have Become Your Normal

You have always be a worrier, for as long as you can remember. Part of that is because you have a lot going on. There is always another goal to chase, need to fill, thing to improve on, task to take care of, or person with expectations to meet.

Even when you set aside time for rest and relaxation, you just can’t settle. Your mind keeps going and you are aware of all the things you should be handling.

It is to the point where you worry when there is nothing to worry about about because you’re afraid you are missing something.

Not worrying feels strange at this point because stress is like a constant companion, taking up so much time and energy and space. You almost don’t even dare to dream that you could have a life without anxiety at the center, a life where you are more present, joyful, engaged, and secure than you are stressed.

Here’s How Anxiety Gets in the Way

  • Your relationships Anxiety can interfere with us being the present and loving person we want to be in our relationships making us withdrawn, argumentative, snappy, and frustrated that a partner or friend can’t give us what we need to relax.

  • Your family We want to be a caring sibling, parent, child, cousin but when we are so overwhelmed by expectations or obligations we don’t have space to really connect with the people we love.

  • Your creative life Worry blocks creativity in so many ways like convincing us we don’t have time to making things, redecorate a space, paint, write, garden, act, sing and that if we can’t do these things perfectly they are not worth doing.

  • Your health When we are overwhelmed by worry our sleep isn’t right (hello insomnia), our stomachs stay upset, we get constant muscle tension like neck pain and shoulder pain, and it can even drain the energy we need to move, breathe, and do things that make us feel good.

  • Your joy Worry and stress are so quick to take up the space that joy can occupy and crowd it out even when we are doing all of the supportive and meaningful things that usually connect us to joy.

  • Your goals and ambitions Seconding guessing ourselves, worries about risk and what might go wrong, and fears that we are not enough keep us from trying new things, taking the leaps we need to take, and reaching for the new opportunities that can take us where we want to go in careers or entrepreneurship.

Change Your Relationship with Anxiety, Heal Trauma, and Make Space for Peace and Presence

Let’s change your relationship with anxiety, for good. Stress and challenges are all part of a fully and meaningful life but worry doesn’t have to be. I take a holistic approach, including EMDR, to help you create a life that is centered on the things that matter most to you instead of worry.

EMDR is a type of therapy that is rooted in decades of clinical research and that is based on your mind’s natural desire to move in the direction of healing. A metaphor that is used to explain EMDR is that if your hand gets scraped, you anticipate that the would will heal over time and continue to get better because your body wants to heal that wound as long as nothing gets in the way. EMDR therapists see the mind in the same way. Trauma, challenging experiences, and relationship wounds call all do damage our minds and get stuck in a way that makes it hard for the mind to heal. EMDR activates the minds ability to heal and to shift memories, experiences, and challenges in a way that they no longer lead to anxiety, worry, and patterns that don’t align in our values and instead they lead to greater strength, resilience, or other resources within ourselves.

Here is how it works:

We build up your resources, practices and tools that help you to soothe yourself, and you ways of finding center even as we sort through challenging topics and experiences.

We identify the memories and experiences that contribute to your anxiety or other challenges in your life that may be rooted in trauma along with the beliefs and triggers that are connected to those memories and experiences.

We work through those experiences using bilateral stimulation (BLS) which helps the mind to process these experiences in a new way and activates it’s ability to move into the direction of healing.

We connect those experiences to more supportive beliefs.

We get a clear understanding of how you to create new patterns and show up differently in your life, process doubts and fears that get in the way using BLS, and build up the confidence and problem solving you need to make it happen.

Are You Ready?

  • A life centered on worry and stress, and all the ways they create barriers to what matters most, does not have to be your normal.

  • Heal the trauma at the root of worry and the beliefs and triggers that trauma has created.

  • Build new patterns and a life centered on presence, joy, connection, and your values.
